New Stoke City manger Paul Lambert will watch from the stands when
his side make the trip to meet Manchester United in the Premier League
on Monday night.
The club missed out on several other targets, including Quique
Sanchez Flores, but confirmed that the former Aston Villa boss will be
taking over on Tuesday, meaning Eddie Niedzwiecki will be in caretaker
charge at Old Trafford.
The Potters have picked up just one win from their last eight matches
and a humiliating FA Cup exit at the hands of Coventry City saw the
Stoke hierarchy call time on Hughes’ reign as manager.
